Hi Annick,
No problem on the ID. It is the only Drongo in Namibia as far as I know. Though I can not see the belly, this would appear to be an immature heavily involved in moulting into adult plumage (v. the juxtacarpal primaries, and outermost secondaries). Also evident the very worn rectrical termini, as well as the growing-in primaries (you can see them advancing while growing distally along the rachides of the primaries)of those primaries not yet shed but with the typical tapering of the tips of worn feathers.

Hi Annick,
it is a sign of your skill that you think this might not be worth posting, but decided to anyway! I would be extremely happy to have caught this! Love the spiny plant behind and the plain cloudy background. DOF seems hardly worth mentioning...

Hallo Annick,
Groet,
Peter

Hello Annick,
Nice in-flight of the African Drongo: the sharpness is pretty good IMHO. Looks good as it flies by the acacia from a great POV.
Thanks and best regards,
Ivan

Hi Annick. This one looks like a water colour painting .The bird looks 3D on my computer. Excellent detail in the open wings and long tail. With natural looking colours. I lik the White coloured sky with the blue at the top. A class 1 picture. very well done TFS.

Hello Annick
This is a great capture regardless of the PP involved.
I say there is a fair amount of PP used as the thorn entering the far primary exits at a noticeably lower point..All the same its a great inflight capture and as a fan of inflights I hope to more from you as great photographer.
All the Best

Hi Annick,
I have beeb trying to get a photo of one of these birds just sitting still and here you have one in flight with great composition and detail. The thorn tree branch adds to the image. Well done.
PS. My 2nd grandson was born this evening.

Hi Annick
Another amazing shot from you, my friend!
I don't know about that focus - or where exactly it is - but i think that just for the fun of it you could have even cloned out the branch in the back and it would have still been a superb shot :)
Very good details and excellent timing, as well!
A very beautiful species - this Fork-tailed drongo - and nice to see a great photo of one again!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Annick,
The thing that immediately occurs to me when viewing this is that the Drongo would need to be just a bit careful whe landing on one of these spiny trees.
Those nasty spikes could ave someomes eye out!
A great capture,definitely worth posting.

Hi Annick,
Een fraaie vogelvlucht, met mooie kleuren en compositie is goed alleen even wennen dat de vogel minder ruimte voor zich heeft, voor wat betreft de focus en dof is hier op mijn scherm niet veel aan te merken,

Hello Annick,
This is a special photo. You have captured this bird, while flying, with excelent sharpness in a fine pose. Wings position is very good and light comming through the featers makes it look interesting. The photo has a very fine composition with that perch with thorns on the background.
Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Hi Annick.
I welcome your decision to share this wonderful shot. Only it is a pity that you have not post EXIF-data. I like such details. I hope focus and DOF are OK considering the level of sharpness of few feathers of the right bird's wing and twig behind the bird. Pictured moment is stunning and details (especially colouration) reproduction of the bird are amazing. It is funny without bird scene is so attractive too. Nice tree, cute combination of the clouds and piece of blue sky create a wonderful basis for the final image. Bravo. Well done.
Alexei.

Very creative, Annick. Looks like a very fast shutter and a flash fill to boot. Altogether it made for great lighting and details. I'm strangely drawn to the blue/white bg, though. With regard to presentation, I would have cropped a bit from the right, but that's just taste. Amazing work.

Hello Annick,
Excellent capture. Even though you say the focus is on the wings and not on the body, i don't think it has affected the image. The bird, the bush and the sky makes it a very beautiful picture.
TFS & Regards,
Smitha.
