Thanks for yesterday's critiques and I hope you'll like this one..

This is more or less a panorama view , aspect ratio 1,5:3. These are the spectacular red dunes surrounding Sossusvlei.

I used to have a room when I was studying and there’s was also another room in that same house occupied by a very brilliant student in geography. I remember when he entered my room he always went straight to the window and discussed the cloud formations. Something like “These are 'these' kind of clouds but there’s also this and that and maybe we’ll get rain but there’s also the possibility that this or that will happen and so forth and so forth”
I was thinking what would have happened if he entered the same room, went to the window and saw this…:-)

From wikipedia...
Sossusvlei is a clay pan in the central Namib Desert, lying within the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia. Fed by the Tsauchab River, it is known for the high, red sand dunes which surround it forming a major sand sea. Vegetation, such as the camelthorn tree, is watered by infrequent floods of the Tsauchab River, which slowly soak into the underlying clay.

Hallo Annick,
Wat een fantastische wolkenlucht. De schaduwen op de grond vormen ook een schitterend lichtspel. Ze zorgen allebei voor een perfecte diepte in de foto. Erg goede compositie. Adembenemend mooi.
Groet,
Peter

Esplendida imagen llena de contrastes y grafismo...saludos

Hi Annick,
Of course I like this one!
Just look at that clouds, they're amazing.
The light and shadow play over the sand and foreground is so good, it creates a very dramatic effect.
I like a lot the format used for the picture, and the whole presentation is imposing.
My compliments, thanks for share and best regards,
JM

This is just beautiful in its simplicity. The air clarity is special. I do suppose there are the occasional sand/dust storms but not any visible here. I love the patterns of cloud shadows and light. It's a lovely presentation.

Awesome panorama Annick..
I quess you would have to be there to fully appreciate it.

Beautiful shot. The contrast and combination of coloues look great. I like the shadows cast by the clouds on the sands all around.

Hello Annick
a landscape that removes the breath. Very beautiful the game of lights and shadows on the clouds that much depth gives to the photo. The warm colors and the several tonalities give that touch in more for the difference to this splendid photo.

Hi Annick,
It has been a while I did not come on TrekNature. I had a nice surprise to see the landscapes of you. This photo is beautiful, the clouds, the color of the sand, the dark sky and the composition which gives a lot of place for the clouds make a wonderful picture.

Hi Annick

I've been meaning to congratulate you for this one for some days now...and finally i get the chance ;)
An absolutely gorgeous landscape! Day time shots usually have less drama than ones taken at dusk/dawn, but the emotion such a shot evokes is simply stunning!
The composition and the panorama-like format work excellent with the view and the exposure is wonderfully managed as well. All the colors and tones plus the natural contrast in the sky are brilliant and together with the red dunes below create a top image that would make a super poster in any room, office, travel agency etc.

Bravo and TFS
