[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I bumped into these satellite dishes while travelling across the Namib Naukluft Park in western Namibia. The Park forms part of the Namib Desert which is home to a wide range of unique plant species. I believe that a number of new species are yet to be discovered and described.

These "satellite dishes", which caught my eyes from a long distance as they are really outstanding in the barren desert plain, are known botanically as Hoodia macrantha. The species is also known to exist in the Richtersveld in northern South Africa.

The Namibian sunlight is particularly strong. What could my helpless digital camera do to such intense glare???

Fantastic-looking plant, never seen anything like that before.
Great colour, the glare isn't that bad.
I suppose the only thing missing was some idea on how big the flower actually is?

Never seen such cactus flowers before, usualy they have lots of fine petals. Very interesting find. Your exposition looks fine to me, but I can see some noise. Good POV and compo.

Never seen such cactus flowers before - they are stunning.
Image quality is not so good but it is hard for me to say what is exactly wrong. might be as you say the hot glare.
