50 Kilometers of the Atlantic Ocean lies Sossusvlei.
It seems like a desert area, but there are sand dunes on a clay base. They are the tallest dunes in the world up to 300/350 meters.
The dead vlei is a dry lake with salt at the bottom.
Most of the dead camel thorn trees are standing there as testifies from better times, more than 600 years ago.
Different kinds of sand form all kind of colours from deep yellow till dark red. |

It's a classic shot. Well composed, although I would have given the trees a little more space to the right. The background is simple, which is OK because it's the colours which are the main feature here.

Dit is nog eens een uitzicht... plain and simple erg mooi.
Goede focus met de bomen en de heuvels, kan me voorstellen dat het nog best even zoeken is naar een voorgrond in deze zandbak maar het moet wel fantastisch zijn om er naar op zoek te zijn.
