Hi Annick. What a fantastic looking Grasshoper. He has some fantastic markings and bright colours. You have used the light so well to give warm colours. A good POV and DOF. well done TFS.

Hello Annick,
you show an interesting grasshopper with extraordinary colours and surface structures.
It looks similar to species of the genus Zonocerus. However, I cannot give a clear identification.
The specimen is presented with excellent sharpness and apparently with its natural colours.

Hello Annick,
A great capture of a spectacular grasshopper. I can't help with the ID but the swollen abdomen suggests it is a female.
The lighting and sharpness are superb and it shows well against the OOF natural BG from a fine POV.

Very interesting subject from you, my friend!
I rarely see you shooting macros, but judging after this, you seem to be just as great at it as well :)
Very interesting and cool subject here - the texture on his outer-skeleton and the vibrant colors on the entire body are fantastic and the sharpness is also impeccable despite your quite long focal distance.
Great job overall!

Ik heb nog even op internet gekeken voor de id. Inderdaad vermoedelijk de 'zonocerus variegata'. Een pracht exemplaar. Hij lijkt ook veel op de phymateus-soort die ik op Madagascar heb gefotografeerd.
Schitterende foto in mooie heldere kleuren en enorm scherp.
Prachtige compositie.

I didn't even know you went to Namibia, I am so lost in work lately, I should check out TN more often... I am sure you had a great time there and have lots of good photos now.
I am not very keen on grasshoppers but this one is lovely. Very good focus, sharpness,details, patterns and colors.

So since you've been back I've seen a lot of wonderful images from you..
You know I'm lookin'..
Thought I should break the "ice" and comment on a bug anyway :)
It seems the 400mm is a macro, landscape, and all utility lens, in the hands of a master :)
