[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I really hope someone can help me here. This is by far the ugliest fly that I have ever seen. But I have no idea what kind it is.

Any ideas?

Photo was taken in a patch of wild flowers by the side of a road. The fly was just going from one flower to the next.

Thanx for viewing and please crit.

Hi Jannie,
It is pretty ugly butcan't help with the ID, sorry. I like your POV here, head on to the fly and the stalk of the flower isn't visible. Nice colours and DOF is good.
Regards,
Adrian

Privet Jannie.
It is similar on Scatophaga stercoraria. Good color scale and sharpness of details.

Hi Jannie
Cute little beauty you have captured here :-).
Sorry I really don't know about identification, but then it also looks somewhat like a fly from Tachinidae family? What do you think ?
Patrick
