Pantera onca - Jaguar
Their name, "yaguara", as coined by South American Indians, means "a beast that kills its prey with one bound."

Shape shifting
From the earliest of recorded histories, numerous cultures and societies have passed along the belief in shape shifting. Shamans of all spiritual beliefs have practiced shape shifting (also known as transmorphing) for millennia. Holy men and women from cultures as diverse as the Druids of ancient Ireland and Britain, to nearly every tribe of North and South American Indian, have ceremonies and rituals designed to elicit the shape shifting experience.

Shape shifting will generally be sought in one of two different forms, that of spiritual shifting, or that of shifting the actual physical shape, yet it is physical shape shifting that most Shamans will spend a lifetime learning and striving to attain.

The Jaguar Spirit will carry with him/her the Medicine of shape shifting. This may mean the inherent ability to shape shift in the manner listed above, or this ability may manifest as the drive and ability to continually reshape the conditions, experiences, psychology and reality of their existence. From early childhood, the Jaguar individual will exhibit the desire for near constant change. An innate desire to understand the mysteries of life will be much in evidence with the young Jaguar cub.

In ancient temples your graceful form once walked silently.

Drifting in and out of shadows like a vaporous mist of focused intensity,

your emerald eyes penetrating the darkness…

unflinchingly.

(This note needs a bit adding about the place it was shot in as it must be in a PARK/ZOO see TOS 5)

the rest of the note is very intresting.
I know what Callie will say about this shot , that it needs infill flash to bring out the details in the shadowed side . that said the pose is very god with the cat looking at you in a very relaxed way.

Very good photo and note Gerhardt,
Okee the photo needs a flash, but the composition is very nice, and your note is great, so you did a good job for me.

Excellent composition, the fill flash would be an idea, evn so I kind of like it as it is. Feels natural. Good colours and detail. Well done.

Ek sien Robert spring my voor! That said, the picture can loose dome on the right and gain some on top. The actual pose is very re;axed. I assume the same Private Farm near Kroonstad? Note is nice, so have 2

Great pose you caught, Gerhard - and nice how the right front paw is resting on the rock. Good color setting and nice detail on the beautiful coat. Well done, even in the harsh light.

That cat looks so lazy that no one would take it for a perfect killer.

Wonderful shot Gerhard and a hard one I think with the backlight. Colours seems very natural and I just love that pose.

Very educating note about the indians too - thanks.

Belle photo un peu trop foncée à mon goût

Oh!what a looking,Gerhard!
