I had a girlfriend who called me something similar but without the beautiful.

A very striking bird Gerhard, do they occupy the same niche as a secretary bird? They look a similar build and the diet looks similar. I like hte composition and the details are great. Thanks for posting.

I think I have never seen this one, it looks very proud of himself. A nice shot, better considering the difficulty of this one, it looks like a calibration pattern, black-white-mixed... :)

Yes indeed Gerhard thats a nice looking bustard. The bird is caught nicely in focus between the long grass and it appears to be taken at its level. Good post.

Hi Gerhard. I just "found" this shot. It is wonderful. What a beautiful bird. Have never seen or heard of it before. Great expression with his head slightly tilted. Lovely color patterns on the wings. Sharp details and perfect light. TFS. : )
