| Hoopoe-Upupa Epops. Family Upupidae. Common resident. The crest is normally held down, being raised only when attentive or alarmed. Females and immatures are duller than males. Has an undulating, butterfly like flight, black and white wings then conspicuous. The call is 'hoop-hoop, hoop-hoop' frequently repeated. |
