Grey Hornbill (Tockus nasutus)(Male)
The Grey Hornbill is found in the northern parts of south Africa. Habitat is savanna and bushveld.
The male has a dark bill and the female has a blood-red tip to its bill. (Will Upload photo of female)
These hornbills feed on a large variety of foods including, insects, small reptiles, small mammals, seeds and fruit.
Their nest is a hole in a tree. There usually is a chimney above the entrance. The male seals the female into the nest with mud. The female breaks out of the nest about three weeks after the first egg hatches and the nestlings seal the entrance leaving a small hole to be fed through. |

Hi Leon
Very nice work. Great composition. Good colours. Stands out well against the OOF BG (out of focus background). Well done.
Welkom Leon,
Well done with photo and welcome to TN. Good detail and sharpness. Did a workshop, slightly darker, sharpened and removed noise.
