[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Spottedbacked Weaver is a medium sized bird with face and throat black, ending in a point in the centre of its breast in the case of the male. The photo is that of the female.

The back is spotted black with the rest of the upperparts yellow. The crown is olive. Likes savanna bushveld, riverine forest and gardens. Feeds on insects, spiders, fruit and seeds.

Nests are built of strips of grass, reed and leaves by the male. The nest is oval shaped with or without a very short vertical entrance spout.

This photo was taken at the Krugersdorp Game Reserve.
