This probably is not the best photo ever. Tried to capture it from a decent angle so that the light from the flash would not have vibrated back.
I am not sure really what kind of animal this is. What I can tell you (because I took a photo of the plaque) is that this is an amphibian. They can absorb oxygen through the skin. |

This is a White Axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum), an amphibian native from Mexico and very common as aquarium pet.
