This is an amazing shot that I am sure Bayram will adore. This snake is so perfectly cammouflaged by the leaves and still you captured him in perfect detail. The eye, the black specks, the shape are all superb. There is a 3D effect that makes him appear to be floating. An absolutely fantastic photo.

Hi Anna,

Thank you very much for this pleasant dedication for me, I really appreciate it since snakes are my 1st number favourite subject between the reptiles. Also thanks for your kind and warm words that you used for describe to me:). By the way, I have to state that I prefere to use a bycicle instead of a Rolls Royce because it does not use a pollutant for locomotion and also a good sport:P:). On the other hand, this is perfect shot of this snake species which I have not ever seen before my friend! The colour-pattern of this snake is excellently adapted to substrate structures for avoiding from the enemies or umbushing its prey:). wonderful camouflaged species indeed.

What an amazing photo. We do not have snakes here in New Zealand, so I would never have the luxury or fright of finding one in my garden. The colours are vibrant and beautiful. very sharp and clear. It really does show us the increable ability nature has to camoflauge itself. The photo has an interesting POV. Lucky you for seeing him and that he wasnt the posionious variety.

Hello Anna,
This is very good, not only technically but artistically as well. Very good depth of field, everything in focus which in this kind of image I think is quite important. Lovely shades of green throughout and the composition is perfect. The lines coming from the bottom right and fanning out, the Snake obligingly doing the same. I like the lines in this so much I posted a workshop with any breaks in the 'flow' of the lines cloned out, simply out of curiosity rather than an attempt to improve this fine image.

Anna, the thumbnail image gives no clue to the real theme. My God, I was stunned to see a green snake when I opened the large image (I'm mortally afraid of snakes!).
My fear notwithstanding, this is a powerful image of a snake camouflaged so well in the large green leaves.
The image is not only superb in terms of the subject it presents but is also a highly artistic creation.

Hi Anna, you call this a most delightful moment!! But I was pleased to see that you did have a few frightening moments when you first saw it!!

The snake looks like it belongs there. These plants are so unique and attractive and this green snake is curved in perfectly with the shape of the giant leaves.

Hi Anna, a very impressive capture of this Spotted Bush Snake, even more so when I read your notes. I don't know snakes either so tend to avoid them if possible, so not knowing the species, I can just imagine how you were feeling as you took this shot. I like how you captured this one, with him climbing up the large leaf. He blends in so well, yet you have nicely isolated him. The colours are excellent as is the sharp detail throughout. Very excellent work.

Hi Anna!

During my holiday on the island of Krk (Croatia), after having left Slovenia, I also met a couple of snakes. One of them was the dangerous Horn-Viper (translated from German "Hornviper"). I tried to take some pictures of snakes and therefore know how difficult it is to get a good one. I'm impressed by the beauty of your picture! The colours - green on green - are superb and you made a great job concerning the composition and the lighting. Your picture is accompanied by very interesting notes and I'm particularly happy to read that you underline the fact that humans often needlessly kill them!

Hi Anna. I was thinking you were posting some leaves until I opened up the image. The green color of the snake blends so well with the blade of the leaves making it a good camouflage for such a tiny snake. Bayram is a big fan and he should be thrilled by this dedication. I think it is time that you change the wording on your intro page. The fellow members are going to think that you are a liar when reading your statement "I'm only a beginner and not much of a photographer at all. So far most of my photos were pure luck shots." Now did you not know that Pinnochio's nose grew very long when he told lies? Because if I look at this specific image and read what everybody else have to say about it, I think your nose will soon be out of reach. Ha-ha. Another wonderful photo in action. Well done!
You are very lucky to be able to capture shots like these. I think there are a number of fellow- members that envy you. Thank you for the interesting note as well. Information on the subject is always much appreciated and in this case information on your experience capturing this snake.

Nee jong, van slange wil ek niks weet nie. Die goed maak my gril. Ek weet hulle is belangrik in die natuure en al daardie dinge, maar solank as hulle daar in die natuur hulle goeie dinge doen en nie hier by my huis waar my kinders en hondjies is. Gelukkig het ons nie veel probleme hier nie. Ons sien selde 'n slang en dan sal my man die ding maar net verwyder en iewers ver weg van die opstal los laat.

Jy was egter braaf om hierdie pragtige slangetjie af te neem en dit nogal so naby. Goed gedoen, maar ekke sou nie kon nie. Alles sou bewe.

Sorry for being a bit late...i was on a long hike yesterday and i was quite tired :)

This is really a fantastic presentation! Tree snakes are really rare here on TN and i'm VERY glad to see one and read such interesting info about it. I'm sure Bayram is also charmed.
The photo here is very good i think because it presents the subject in such a natural place. The Blending of the two and the POV create a superb composition for such a scene.
Lovely natural colors and very good exposure management, too.

This find is a fine green that has me going green:)I cant believe you found this in your garden...an absolutle fitting dedication for Bayram- an expert on reptiles and related creations.

I like the green palette and the way the snake has lifted its head with great eye contact.The clarity, sharpness and focus are quite fine. The green of the subject merges along easily that of its habitat. I really love to see the patterns on its body that has been picked up excellently.Good colours and lighting too.Very well done.

Fantastic shot with or without the snake, obviously the snake is the icing on the cake all for us to admired. The sharpness is incredible, though the snake is trying to blend in but your clarity if so good here he's not fooling anyone. We can see it perfectly.
