[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A small dark grey heron with a black crown, dark gren back and slightly paler underparts. The legs and feet are bright orange-yellow. The black wispy nape plume is not usually seen except when bird alights. Imm : is streaked brown and buff and has orange legs. Habitat : Frequents mangrove stands and coral reefs at low tide and freshwater dams, lakes and sluggish rivers overhung with trees. Fairly common, but local and often overlooked.
