Whitefaced Duck ( Nonnetjie eend ) Dendrocygna viduata
Size +/- 48cms
These ducks congregate in swarms. They prefer dams rivers, marshes etc etc. Can always be found where there is an abundance of water plants.
When they fly, you will continually hear them call with a " swiee swiee swioe " call.
They spend most of the day on the banks next to the water.

These whitefaced ducks were found at Jan Kotze's dam in Zimbabwe. They were very shy and I struggled to get some shots of them. This was about the best I could get. There were about 60 birds in the flock and they returned to the same place every day for 3 days.

Hi Willie!
Beautifull Whitefaced Ducks here. First time I see these.
They seem worthy to carry their great colors. The eyes are astonishing!
Good POV.
For the composition, if that had been possible, I would have left a little more space on the right, but it is personnal.
Good picture and note. Thanks.

Awesome shot,I would have liked to see more equal space on either side so as to 'frame'the subject would maybe make more artistic sense, just my oppinion (smile) poster quality though...well done!

Willie, Nice couple. I agree with Miq that a little more space around the ducks would be nice. Nevertheless very nice shot.
Greetings, Jan
