Thank you for your time and critiques yesterday.
Same bird as in my previous post. I thought this was a Little egret. Ivan replied it was a Cattle egret.
In my previous upload you can find the argumentation.
Add to this the argument that this is a more stockier species compared to the more elegant Little egret.

Description

The Cattle Egret is a stocky species, averaging 51 cm long and weighing 200-600 g, with a short thick bill. The non-breeding adult has all-white plumage, a yellow bill, and greyish-yellow legs. When breeding, orange buff plumes develop on the back, breast and crown, and the legs become orange pink. The sexes are similar, but juvenile birds have a black bill.

This bird will give soft kre calls in flight, and a gruff rick-reck on the ground.

Annick, Beautiful picture. Almost like a painting. The only hitch if any is the shadow over the eyes. The picture is sharp.

Another perfectly composed image with DOF that highlights the main subject exceptionally well. Use of the rule of thirds here works very, very well.

Lighting, color and image post processing are exceptional.

Hello Annick,
That pose is priceless!
I don't know why, but I feel they always have evil plans and a cunning look, hehehe...
Fine details in the bird, a well balanced composition!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Annick,
After seeing all those exotic creatures in your gallery I am happy to see a bird familiar to me.:) This is a fine picture of Cattle Egret taken at Excellent POV and DOF. The exposure is well controlled bringing out the details in its white plumage. This one is in breeding plumage, hence the orange buff to its head and breast. It's a beautiful composition Annick, and thanks for sharing it.
Regards,
Smitha.

Annick,
I love the pose of this egret. Eyes wide open looking very hard for possible meal. Perfectly captured and composition is just right on as you cropped it. Top quality image. I have seen many of them on my trip, but I didn’t even try to get this kind of close up shot. I have seen them in group of hundreds and I was just so overwhelmed and impress with the over all view. I actually forget to get a close up shot, or maybe they were just too far away.

Hi Annick, this is a very good pose of this Cattle Egret. The tall portrait format works very well for this bird, in this pose. The detail on him is very good and very sharp with great exposure and colour. I like how you've picked up his immediate surroundings with the log and grass, but muted out the further background through your choice in depth of field. Very nice presentation.

Thanks, John

Great shot Annick!
The composition is splendid!
Brilliant pose from this stretched Cattle Egret.
Nice lighting and natural colours.
Brilliant DOF as well that blurs the BG perfectly.
Well done,
Joe

Annick,
What I really like is the wide variety of subject you choose. That's not to say that this shot is not good, it's in the same class as the rest of your excellent work!
Thanks so much!
