[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Thank you for looking at my previous pictures and for critiquing them.

Photographed at 08:00 ante meridiem. Kruger National Park, South Africa.

This bull came from a waterhole. You can see its trunk is still wet.
I knew it was an opportunity concerning “framing”; an opportunity.. especially if you take into account the heavy prime lens as you can’t zoom in or out..
On the other hand the elephant was quite determined . I was definitely on its highway. Should say it wasn’t a Rogue elephant and quite predictable in its behaviour.
I started the engine after a few images though…

Developed subsequently in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Hi Annick

This is superb - you have caught him mid-stride with excellent detail. The damp trunk and broken tusk are great.

The elephant appears to be coming straight out of my screen!
Wonderful details and colours!

Hi Annick,

Just few shots more before we will get run over. Very good action shot, next time you should use 100-400L as you may zoom back and closest focusing distance is only 1.8 meters: just one more shot...

Great composition, sharpness of details, colours and BG.

Hi Annick

Just stunning mate well done excellent pose, superb detail, well framed,

Cheers Rick :)

Annick,

This is a great shot! You can really tell that he is on a 'mission' - ready to start the day. I have never seen an elephant in the wild but I can appreciate their strength and presence. It is quite funny that you 'started the engine after a few images' - I think I would have never turned it off :))
Very nicely done Annick. TFS

Best Regards

Hallo Annick,
Vanuit zo'n laag standpunt komt hij redelijk dreigend over. Uit ervaring weet ik dat het toch maar beter is om de motor te starten. De wijd uitgespreide oren verraden onrust.
Kwalitief weer een uitstekende foto.
Groet,
Peter

Hello Annick,
I do believe this wonderful animal deserves the right of way. What an excellent image with superior quality throughout. Great work Sir, thank you.

Hi Annick,

Quite a powerful image. African Elephants are the largest land creatures and you have done justice to them with this photograph.

Wow.... Talk about straight at you, Annick.
Definitely a prize-winner in the POV category.
Incredible.
Am glad you somehow determined it was not a rogue.
Fantastic details.

Hi Annick,
Super fantastic close-up shot of this graceful giant. You really cant get a better perspective on this particular animal. The overall image has been well executed by the master of his camera. TFS
Paul :)

What an awesome shot! Yes, I can see it's determination and I'm also glad it wasn't a rogue because they are unpredictable. The texture is amazing, but even more amazing is to realize what giants these wonderful creatures are. This really emphasizes his size. He's seems to be plodding along and will step in whatever is in his way, but this is a fine capture - one of my favorites for the elephants.

Hi Annik

The low-down POV and eye contact with this bull make it a fine shot. An excellent result with that big lens/ Great sharpness and details.
