The Crested Barbet (Trachyphonus vaillantii) is a species of bird in the Ramphastidae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

This is photographed in Camp Letaba. With a monopod and IS on.

Hello Annick,
Great POV, pose, sharpness and busy but OOF BG. Nice composition that make this a pleasing portrait of the Crested Barbet. To be very critical I would say the top of the head is slightly OE, but hardly worth mentioning.

Hi Annick. What a sad looking bird this is. it looks so fed up. Dont know why he a smat looking thing with spotty markings. and red and yellow colours. which you have taken so well. with good detail and a nice POV. well done TFS.

Golly, there are enough birds around that I wouldn't have enough lifetime to see, much less learn them all. This one has real interesting markings and I'm reasonably sure I've not seen one before. I look forward to your daily post.

excellent shot of this bird, fine POV, DOF and framing,
some persons doesn't love the branches and other things
obstruckting the image and the main subject,
but me, in nature photographys i love the see
around the birds branches and vegetations lijke this image,
excellent sharpness and details of the bird's plumage,
