Ah... can names get any better than "Black-bellied bustard" ???? ! I love it! I am so unschooled when it comes to ID's that I still find some of them amusing!
It is a great shot, a bit busy... but how could it not be with that amazing feather pattern!

Hello Annick,
A fine capture of the Red-crested Korhaan (Eupodotis ruficrista) with fine sharpness and good contrast against the OOF green BG.
TFS,
Regards,
Ivan

Hi Annick. Which ever one it is its a great picture . The detail in the feather markings are spot on. A large looking bird. which you have captured with natural colours. It also has a large eye. well done TFS.

Hello Annick,
I so glad Ivan identified it for you, well just for your own peace of mind!
The markings on this bird look like a complicated tapestry and you have captured them so sharply!
Good dof to isolate the b/g.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Ciao Annick,
bellissima momento di cattura, eccellenti POV e composizione con una postura di all'erta (look out) in ambientazione naturale. ottime nitidezza e definizione dei dettagli del piumaggio, belli e naturali i colori.
TFS. Have a nice weekend
Maurizio
So your Black-bellied bustard might now be a Red-crested Korhaan. Oh no! It might be the Mrs Black-bellied bustard or the Mr Red-crested Korhaan.
Poor fellow, I hope he/she knows who he or she is - even if you don't Annick! And I hope it's partner doesn't get too confused either.
BTW - good shot of this bird - it is a bird, isn't it?
Confusedly

"Isnt she adorable" was the only word came out when saw first. That is it looks so female like. A marvellous shot with the dorsal pattern...

Hello Annick,
What an excellent capture!
Shots like this are a near impossiblity to frame, focus and shoot, and you did an excellent job on all counts.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Annick, The wing pattern on this somehow shows the peacock design. The eye focus suggest that the bird is actually looking at someone beind him. Excellent sharpness and brilliant composition. Ganesh

Great pic Annick.
It is the Red-Crested korhaan for sure. I know it because the "V" pattern that you can see clearly in the feathers on its back is indicative of which species it is.
This bird has an amazing mating ritual. It flies straight up into the air for about 30 metres, and then tumbles down as if it has been shot. It really almost hits the ground before it pulls up just in time. I have been fortunate enough to see this once. Truly amazing to see.
The afrikaans name for this beautiful creature is a "Boskorhaan". Translated literally into English it means "Bushkorhaan".
Anyway, it is a very nice picture, great pose you captured.
Jan-Hendrik
