[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This African elephant came from a waterhole. Look at his trunk. It was a bit scary 'cause the elephant was very vivid.
As you can see the sky wasn't very open.
The Ngotso North waterhole is situated along the H1-4, more or less 15 km south of Olifants restcamp.
More info about the African elephant and many more images in my Treknature Kruger National Park travelogue.

Technically...
It is a full frame image (5D sensor) with a Sigma 150 mm mounted. View my intro page: equipment.

He looks like he's changing direction fast - now, is he going to charge you???

Good action shot Annick, and you're still alive!

Well done
Janice

Hi Annick,

A good image fairly close with a 150mm!! Good exposure and one can see that he could be a bit agitated. This one is right handed judging from the wear on his one tusk.

Robin

Hi Annick,
Impressive indeed!! All of him looks a bit scary coming head on.. And can see he is right -handed by his tusk..
Now have to ck and see if female elephants have tusks or not. funny i can't recall at the moment..
Very good action shot.. I love elephants they are impressive to me and admire their Matriarch society.

Thank you so much for sending. Will ck out your porfolio soon..
Best regards,
Jane

Great shot! The low pov, the way it is standing, all form a wonderful image.

Wov Annick,

I can see the sense of movement in your picture as his weight center is out of the range of his feet! Very good moment captured with your usual professional quality! TFS!

Best regards,
Andor

Hello Annick,
I much like this picture than picture before. The pose and the technique are well done.
TFS

Hello Annick,
I love the improbable posture of this giant, holding up its ample proportions on slanted legs, counterbalancing the huge head and heavy tusks on one side.
Just fantastic energy captured here.
While I was away, I have REALLY missed your pictures.
I am so happy to see that you are still active and making your amazing posts.
TFS. : )
