| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
South Africa is situated in the Southern Hemisphere - where the seasons start six months after the Northern Hemisphere -
i.e. Spring begins in September. Hoedspruit - in the summer rainfall area - does not get rain from April to November/December.
Our property is adjacent to the Hoedspruit Park. It consists of natural Mopani Bush (veld),
and every winter we get Veld fires
This year, residents had dumped garden refuse, and the fire bigger than in previous years; it was only stopped thanks to the firebreak, which we dig every year outside our garden.
I photographed the fire from a distance of ca 20 m. |
