Look at the eyes, it is seeing something fishy, something it does not comprehend, out of the ordinary. “I wonder should I go or should I stay? The band had only one more song to play. And then I saw you out the corner of my eye, a little girl alone and to shy” Can't remember who sang this, from the late sixties early seventies. Anyway, this guy was nonplussed. He had no clue as to what the big black tube was that I was holding in my hands and pressing into the fence. This is the Cheetah Research Centre near Hoedpruit. They have 75 cheetahs, & are the world leaders in breeding and research on captive cheetah. The two cubs recently born in a Denmark Zoo that Bente told us about - the zoo personnel was in constant communication with this centre, before the cubs were born.
Cheetah are about R75 000.00 each. The king cheetah, a generic form of the normal cheetah with black stripes in lieu of the spots on most of its skin, are around $200 000.00! They have six, but none for sale.
These were a group of 5 young cheetah, kept in a camp/ They are “tame”, but will chase a small child if it walks next t the fence. Our guide called the to us, and they licked her fingers through the fence. The guy I photographed came last, sort of a cautious approach. Because of the fence, I pressed the front of the lens hood against the wires and shot through the wires. Our cheetah did not like this one bit and gave me this funny stare. I cropped the picture this close in the camera, because I did not know how or if the picture would be useable. I only PP cropped and inch off the bottom. I also have one of eyes and mouth only, with the nearly the same expression.
Now for a titbit. The cheetah is the fastest land mammal, but how fast? They raced a tame cheetah in recently in Cape Town, using the same system as when they race greyhound with the “hare”. And the new record is 140km/h!!! according to our guide!

Personalmente me agrada el primer plano de este guepardo Callie, pero el cuadro me parece un poco ajustado.
Los colores son bellos y el PP atinado.
Excelente nota.

Personally I pleases the close up to me of this cheetah Callie, but the frame seems a little fit to me.
The colors are beautiful and the accurate PP.
Excellent note.

WOW! Best eye detail i've seen of a cheetah Callie. Very nice facial expression captured. Great work done here! Out of curiousity... why did you crop the ears?

The clash sang "should i stay or should i go", I think the cheetah is afraid and he would run away
