[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Chacma Baboon.
The most distinctive feature of this baboon is its long, downwardly-pointed face.

I’m not sure whether this is a Cape Chacma or a Gray-footed Chacma.

“The Cape Chacma (P. ursinus ursinus) from southern South Africa is a large, heavy, dark brown baboon with black feet. Another subspecies, the Gray-footed Chacma (P. u. griseipes), is present from northern South Africa to southern Zambia. It is slightly smaller than the Cape Chacma, lighter in color and build, and has gray feet.” (wiki)

Hi Annick,
It's an artistic work!I liked framing,clear details,POV and visual impact a lot.Masterpiece!
Thanks for posting.

fraaie kop hier Annick,
uitstekende scherpte, mooie dof en prchtige close up met goede details, mooi werk hoor.
groet Jaap

Hola Annick, excelente primer plano, una toma con acertada y atractiva composición, buen detalle y la expresión de los ojos atenta, fija y un poco intimidatoria. Un saludo

Another great capture. The eyes are haunting and it seems to have an especially large snout. Fine detail, good DOF and color.

Don't worry if you don't get the name of this species correct. After all, remember the old saying, "A baboon by any other name, smells as bad" LOL!!! (OK, bad joke)

Hi Annick,
This is an excellent portrait. I like this composition a lot and this proximity. Details are amazing, I feel I can almost touch it :)!

Hello Annick
There is no need to mention the sharpness here as you could shave with it!!..But its the framing that is exceptional..The baboon is placed just correctly to the right and the superb bg to the left makes this a winner in my book...Excellent work.
Best Regards
Paul
