Unfortunatly I am not a budding ornithologist and do not have readily available access to a bird book (Maybe I should get one), so I do not know what this little fellow is, other than a bird of course.

Any Ideas? It was shot in the Northwest Province of South Africa about 60Km pas Brits. Hope it helps :-)

PP: Sharpened and Upped the contrast a tad.

Nice bird photo my friend.
I like natural photos and don't care about distracting bg etc i wish you did not cut the tail but i know it is not easy to capture a bird when they are on the trees:)
Nice capture and colors, sharpness and focus looks good.TFS
Sorry,No Idea about ID !

Johan,

As ek vinnig kyk is ek seker dat dit 'n Maricovlieëvanger (Marico Flycatcher) (Melaenornis mariquensis) is. Very nice picture, well done. What is that green spot on the branch? Was the tree budding already? TFS.

Jan-Hendrik.

N.S. As jy weer die stert afsny gaan ek jou net een punt gee! :) Dit is die enigste harde kritiek wat ek teen die foto kan gee.

Ek het jou reeds vertel dit is 'n goeie shot!

Very good detail and sharpness!! And you worked hard for this one. The workshop is what I would have suggested for the composition, and with the short tail the only shortcomings in this post.

Happy hunting!!

Hello Johan

Lovely shot. Very good exposure. Whites are not easy to get right, but you have done a top job. Nice pose and POV. Well done. Thanks.

Johan, I think Jan's workshop really improved the composition.

Anyway, this is a very nice shot.

Excellent pov and colors. I like the background too.
