Colorful, isn't it? Excellent detail and sharpness. I love the spots on him - if I look long enough, I get dizzy (though some may say I'm that way naturally...). The composition is great and the soft BG helps the subject become more prominent....

Hi Annick

These busy birds are normally rather difficult to capture as they hardly ever stand still and their heads keep on bobbing up and down as they forage for food. So, it is actually a tricky affair to get an opportunity for a good capture and either patience or good fortune needs to play a big role.

You did well with this one as it seems like it was standing on the rock to survey the surroundings thus giving you the right moment. I like the in focus grasses right behind the "tarentaal" basically forming a 'unit' with the bird as opposed to the OOF and isolated grass in the BG. Good detail and fine composition.
