| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| This Yellow Mongoose (Cynictus penicellata) was photographed at the Fre State National Botanical Gardens. They are very experienced group, showing more social group formation than other mongooses, but not as much a meerkats (Suricatta suricatta). Take the time to "google" this species. They are mainly insectivorous, live in burrows (often shared with other species i.e. ground squirrels)like meerkats but don't share their behaviour. Its a good comparison of gentics vs. ecology as a source of behaviour. |
