I caught this Sand Shark (also known as a Guitar Shark) and took a quick snap with my Sony compact before releasing it.
Even though it looks like a face there are no eyes here, this is just mouth and olfactory parts. The eyes are on top. This shark is more like a Ray as if feeds on the bottom rooting up crustaceans and other prey from the sand with it's hard arrow shaped head. |
