African lion Panthera leo
I think lions have been described on this site ad nauseum. I will not bore you with the scientific detail.
I took this picture about 10km north of Satara restcamp in the Kruger Park.

Very beautiful photography, which exploits the nuances of beige, and shows us all the details of this big cat !!

Hi Jan,
Fabulous portrait of the Lion with sharp details and scary eye contact. Looks royal. I presume it opened its awesome jaws seeing you...gosh. Excellent POV to portray it and very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Jan Hendrik,
Very good wildlife close up...
You always see 'black tears'; I wonder what the function is and whether this is good or bad for a lion?
