[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While hiking in the veld we came across an ostrich pair. The male immediately spread his wings and trotted of into the distance.
The female carried on browsing but kept a beady eye on us as we gingerly walked by. She was clearly indicating that this was her territory and we were only tolerated for a short time. As I was taking the photo she glared at me balefully, making me feel relieved that I was using my 500mm lens.
There have been many posts of ostriches, with excellent notes, so I won't go into too many details concerning the zoological description.

The Ostrich Struthio camelus Family STRUTHIONIDAE is a common resident of Southern Africa. It is an enormous flightless bird up to 2 meters tall.
Immatures are like small scruffy females and are usually accompanied by adults.
Males make a lion-like roar. Found in pairs or groups and sometimes with many young birds present.
In the wild state they occur in isolated pockets. Found in woodland and wooded grassland in the east and in thornveld or grassland in the more arid western regions of Southern Africa.
They run with great loping strides at an amazing speed.

It appears as though it is my trapped in the drain under my kitchen sink. Not sure how they make them your way, but it is a duplicate. So it would appear that plumbing designers followed the Originators plan to a T! Very nicely done in focus, colour and presentation. Complete notes...

Hi Irmgard,
very nice capture of this ostrich, it´s impresive how this little guy can bend it´s neck!!!. A reall good shot.
Good POV and colours, you have control light very good. The head is very well centered. Good blur BG. Details over the ostrich are perfect. Nice note too.
