What an impressive and powerful image!
A top-class shot of this ageing elephant.
+++ The texture of the skin is brought across so well... I can almost feel it.
Superb detail and sharpness enhanced by the excellent clarity.
The pose is very good, clearly showing this huge creature slowly ambling towards you.
An effective low-down POV and a decent composition.
Great DOF and BG.
--- Nothing what-so-ever.
Top work Annick.
Well done,
Joe

Hi Annick,
Foot on the pedal job here.
The foot off the ground makes all the difference from an ordinary shot to a very good one.
Well done (run),

Hello Annick,
Superb frontal capture of the African Elephant, your big lens making it look like it is too close for comfort! Taken at a fine moment with good sharpness and lighting.

Hi Annick,
This is an impressive beast! He seems very old but I'm sure he can run very fast after photographers ;) Amazing capture.

Hello Annick
I don't know the situation here and can't judge the speed of the elephant but the first thing that crosses my mind when I see this is your patience as a photographer is amazing.
This is a superb elephant shot! This would make a wonderful poster, I have a 4 year old boy and his room has photos of African animals,if this was a poster it would make a wonderful addition to his motif.
The focus is laser sharp and the details are excellent. This elephant is coming right at the viewer and pops right off the page into the imagination.
A very special post.

Forgive me a most impertinent observation please -- but this reminds me of the "ladies" on special sale day at the local discount store (I should know -- I worked at one for a season!)!
Seriously: superb PoV, wonderful tight composition, fabulous colours and details

I think this is my favorite from your trip so far. It's just not very often you see an elephant that looks like it's running at you :-). Great POV, DOF, and Composition. Your coloring is remarkable. I like how the background is set, and yet blurred out toward the back - I think it really adds to the whole "running" look of the elephant. This is truly a magnificent picture!

Gorgeous! Excellent DOF and this is indeed an impressive capture. All the detail! Wow! Too bad that the weather didn't co-operate! But you managed to bring the possible outcome!
Cheers, Klaus
Hi Annick
I've been really busy with lots of things these days, but i said myself i wasn't going to let a photo like this go...no matter what!
It's again absolutely amazing! The pose you captured from this impressive elephant is terrific - comming to you and i'm again fascinated by how well an f/2.8 worked here. The effective DOF is perfect, keeping the entire subject in impressive focus (even the back legs...which i have to confess i would have imagined would get at least a little blurry). Nver the less, you pulled out a million dollar picture!
Bravo my friend and TFS
Horia
PS: i really don't mind the white sky here; i see some people do...i think that the picture is superbly exposed and the sky in the back is not overexposed...if you look closely, it's not burned and you can still see some details from the clouds. Plus, it contrasts well with the subject, making it stand out splendidly!

Hi,
Its difficult in my opinion to capture an interesting shot of an elephant. This you managed very well indeed. The photo is sharp and the dull colours in the bg doesn't bother me as it conveys a sense of those misty mornings in the bush. TFS!

Great shot Annick!
Wonderful POV and "pose".
Light blue sky is pleasing.
How far away were you and were you in your auto or behind bushes?
Looks a bit dangerous.
TFS and the interesting note

Absolutely fantastic stance of this huge elephant, Annick.
You caught him in a pose that makes this gigantic animal actually look fluid, if you know what I mean.
A very well-balanced and dynamic shot.
Congratulations and TFS. : )
