Cape Robin (Cossypha caffra)

Small, roundbodied and long legged bird. White eyebrow with black face. Black bill and dark legs. This bird truly looks overweigt.
Hop around in short grass and suburban lawns (I have a pair regularly visiting my garden), looking for insects, spiders, worms and small frogs. They will even be happy with fruit.

Habitat: Forest edge, riverine bush, suburban gardens and farmyards.

This image was taken at the Krugersdorp Private Game Reserve.

Shooting data: Nikon D70, Sigma 170-500 set at 380mm. ISO 400. Postprocessing done in Photoshop.

Benna, hierdie klein klits bly net uit my lns uit. I have nailed him a couple of times, but not realy a good one yet. Love Zorro here, at the start of a table tap dance.

Great Ben.
Its's beautiful , excellent colours and excellent sharpness
with great details.
Goof note.
Very very well done.

Very nice, sharp and warm shot. It seems to be taken at the sunset. The pose is perfect and artistic. I like it a lot.

Great shot Ben. I think this is your best on here so far and all your shots have been good. Ilike the pose with the foot on the melon and with the head looking up. Exellent detail colour and compostion.

Ben, Amazingly good shot with great depth and sharpness. The colours of the shot match nicely.
Greetings, Jan

Ben off coarse I had see this beauty,
I have said it before your frome the sud africa are all, bird man.
Very good copture and I see you have it done with a real big tele lens. Well the result is super, I like it a lot, great job

Such clarity and a pose as well. This truely superb! This is a great image and I am now wondering what is the difference between an image of this quality and a Nature Photographer of the Year winner. You definitely have the quality, but there is just something, perhaps the element of behavior or a story that would just make it pounce out and then I'd expect to see your work in the museum. What I am trying to say is I think you've got what it takes to have a winner in a major nature photo contest

Ben-This is an outstanding photo. You did a great job with it. It is so sharp. Great colors.
