[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A common bushveld bird, one I have posted often in the past, but one that I just have to keep on shooting. This image is one what I have been trying to nail for a long time - and the lighting, the bird and the D300 all came together at the right place, right time late afternoon in Kruger NP. 200-400 F4 VR-S plus 1.4 TC.

A beautiful composition of a perfectly posed bird just before a take-off, captured in nice focus and great detail Callie, thank you for sharing this rare event with us my friend. A small point on your note though, "Chordata" and "Vertebrata-Vertebrates" are not synonyms of each other, Vertebrata is a subphylum of the phylum "Chordata".
