A Medium-sized owl that occurs throughout the world. Often breeds in old buildings
An expert hunter of mice.

I tried to get hold of this species for a long time now, and was rewarded with this shot one night near the Botswana border.
The owl just caugt this bug on the ground that night. Well,the food is not a mice, but something to chew on.

Hello Jan,

Congratulations for an excellent catch. Very good shot with good composition, lighting, colours and sharp details. I have tried to shoot Barn Owls for long time and have not managed to get close enough for a good picture. Very good work and well worth all efforts.
