Gerhard, Don't think I've ever seen anything as colorful in a large bird before other than a Peacock. The feathers do seem to have a metallic sheen as you say..Great note, thanx. Think I'll have to pass on the pheasant under glass tonight!! ;-)
Wow. That's so colorful. I've never seen a bird like this before. He is really beautiful.
I've done a workshop to improve his colors a bit.

Het lijkt wel of the bird is ingeblikt. Van that thin can colours. But even. I really like the shot Gerhard, It's very nice. Erg goed werk Gerhard.

Bingo, a new one for me too. I will direct Philip to it! Love the colours here. I assume I will have to visit the casino? Nice note too.

Impressive colorful of this almost stranger bird.
The clearness or sharpness of this capture is not the best one, but it is worth the trouble by the shown specimen well.
Well done.
PS: thanks for your rate of the Ricinus, but I chose to eliminate the image when not being solved the problem and not being able to publish its version LP.

Pragtig. I find it difficult to get constant good results regarding sharpness on shiny guys like these, but you have succeeded in my books. I see that both males and females have the blue patches around the eyes, must be a mariage made in heaven. Thanks for showing me this guy, he is new to me.

I've never seen this animals. Looks very colorful. Wonderful capture, Gerhard.
Well done.
I'm not so sure you *can* sharpen your way out of this entirely, as it seems you've placed the focus a bit behind him - the branches behind him look sharper.
He looks a bit bleary-eyed, and he's missing most of the green tuft on his head, but his colours are gorgeous.
I've seen one of these back in April, at the Walsrode Vogelpark in Germany. You've captured his colours well, but I don't think any photo could quite bring across the play of light and shadow on these irridescent feathers.

Unbelievable metallic colours! I would love to see one of these guys in real live. The blue around the eyes looks like the eyes of our Guineafowl. Very interesting!

Hi Gerhard, just checking out your Himalayan Monal Pheasant. They are beautiful birds, aren't they?
Been checking your first photos too. I think we can all say the TN has been a great help for us and our photographing skills. Still got a long way to go, but I am very thankful for the honest critiques and suggestions that I have received from many TN members. You too, thank you my friend,
Kia ora
Janice.
