Squacco heron [ Ardeolo ralloides ] found in southern sections of Europe, Madagascar, West Asia and South Africa.They are an uncommon bird and seem to follow rainfall. Usually found near inland water which is has dense surrounding vegetation. They are a shy species but sometimes roost with other birds. Feed mainly on insects as their main diet but are known to catch small birds, fish and frogs.
