The impala[ Aepyceros melampus ], is a medium sized African antelope.Average mass of 75 Kg. reddish brown in colour with lighter flanks and white underbellies.
They can adapt to different environments being grazers in some areas and browsers in others.They browse on shoots,seepods and foilage. They are actice during both day and night and are dependant on water. Females and young form herds sometimes of up to 200 individuals. The mother has the ability to delay birth for up to a month if conditions are harsh.The fauns are suckled for 4 to 6 months.
