I hope you will have a great time in Kruger, returning with amazing pictures. I think you are right with the quality of this picture, but it seems that as you said, the flies are not just flies. Some of them, like this one, are quite spectacullar: the colors in some of them are wanderful. And this one seems to reprezent well that group.

You really do have some amazing fly images in your gallery. This particular fly you posted has gorgeous colors and the detail is quite good, even though you had to crop a lot. Hope you and Loot have a great time and are able to take a lot of photos while your on your trip.
