Vultures

They normally look pretty weird and I never thought that the could be photogenic, but I think I like taking photographs of them (now).

They have a strange quality about them and they have a unique place in nature, maybe I only realised that now.

Vultures are scavengers and are widely spread on the planet. Their bald heads seem to be for hygenic purposes as the reach into the carcasses and get smeared with blood, thus feathers would be difficult to keep clean.

Made it black and white. Also applied a slight unsharp mask.

The composition is as it was taken.
