[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was driving a loop in the park and then I had to stop for an elephant, I look left and the blue duiker was standing, he or she is only 33 cm high and very shy so you can imagine that I had to do everything very quickly, watch the elephant and make a photo.
But for me it is good because you don´t see them so often.
Best wishes for all the members in 2006

Paul

Hi Viv,
What a cute little duiker. You were lucky to be able to catch it with such a good POV. I know they are very shy and very hard to capture. The picture looks a little hazy. A little sharpening would take care of it. I did a workshop to show you. Well done and TFS. : )

Hi, nice photo though there is a bit of noise/grain - not sure what ISO speed (high, 400+, speeds give faster shutter speeds but more noise) you were using on the camera or whether you have cropped the photo thus accounting for the noise...

This animal is a Klipspringer not a blue duiker - among other things its pointed hoofs, which give it a better grip on rocks, its bristle-like hair (which is air filled for padding if it falls off rocks) and its black scent glands by the eyes are diagnostic of this fascinating antelope.
I have not seen a blue duiker but I believe they are smaller with a smoother coat and their hindquarters are higher than the front legs giving them a sloping appearance.

Thanks though for a decent photo...
