Very good picture Ben, the pose is that typical heron stance...I always think they look evil...they remind me of long coat clad hunched horror film characters...and they eat all my fish!

Great shot.

Great shot Ben.
Good pose, good sharp and great details!
But the only problem is the light, the head is overexposed.
Good job !

Great composition and sharpness, and efficient DOF.
A very good job!

Hi Ben, this is a striking bird. I still need such a shot for my collection. The pose is typical heron. Great shot.

Another one. Good capture of this beautiful grey heron. I posted the same species a week ago on TE.
Thanks.

I like herons.
Some years ago, I observed one a whole night. At some point he harpooned a fish. His beak crossed the fish completely.
It is a fascinating and noble bird, of a surprising patience and skill.
Magnificent pose for this one, Mr Broughton.
Good composition and sharpness of details.
A good well-kept work and an informative note.
Thank you

Very good shot Ben! I like this pose and he looks like a corporal in the army. Very well done.

Thanks for posting

très belle image ! ce héron cendré à une position superbe ! il est juste un peu dommage que le front soit surexposer , mais bon on ne peut pas faire autrement...

Opgetrekte skouertjies soos 'n werker wat nie weet waar die soek-goed is nie (smile)
Excellent shot Lourens, well done!

This guy looks very bored. Very good photo, I like the pose.

Excellent feather detail on the body. You waited for the right moment for the head to pose at an angle.
