[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this picture of the cute baby elephant with its mother in the Kruger National Park. The family just had a refreshing bath in the river when they crossed the road where we spotted them.

Elephants are amazing animals to see in their own environment. They are incredibly social creatures who have lasting memories, and can communicate over long distances through low range sound waves. They show a range of cognitive capabilities and social behaviour which most people, especially those that benefit from using elephants, would like to reserve for human beings.

Hello Anton
Ek is wel so 'n bietjie laat daarmee, maar baie welkom by TN. Ek hoop jy het 'n aangename deelname en dat ons nog baie van jou pragtige fotos sal sien.
This is absolutely adorable interaction between the baby and its colossal mother. I actually like how the composition just shows a part of her as it is all about the youngster, but suffice to know that mommy is in the background and that she is taking well care of the juvenile. The colours are quite natural and it is clear they just came out of the water being clean and dust or mud free. The details are a little soft though, but I am convinced that it was not due to a lack of DOF, but rather due to camera movement since it seems you had not much light to play with at 1/90 shutter speed. The brightish BG is great to enhance these pachyderms and the exposure was managed quite well.

Well composed pic, showing good detail of a dark subject (Wet Elephant) against a light BG, POV and 10 out of 10 for the interesting subject so close to the Mother that you have not included much of, so as not to distract from the intended subject. TFS,
