| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The large, dark brown starling is distinguished by its conspicious white vent and undertail coverts. At close range the diagnostic yellow base to the lower mandible can be seen. This is a young bird which I photographed at the Rietvlei Nature Reserve. Older birds (2years) have bright lemon eyes. |

Well composed pic, showing good sharpness and detail. The best part of this pic, IMHO, is the Lighting. It is soft and golden and makes the detail on the dark subject stand out. TFS,
