Another great example of use the portable hide (car). I remember when I was in Thailand I inched the car towards a PondHeron. The wasn't interested at all....until I wound down the window, then it was gone.

Fabulous capture, Sheriff!
Perfect sharpness, definition, background, composition and all.
I know how hard these birds are to get on film. I shot another variety under ideal light conditions in California and dare not post them here because they are still too motion-blurred to meet the high standards set by all of you.

If anything, maybe a tad more contrast in the colors.

Nice shot! I have feeling it could've been a bit better. This is probably bacause of the birds pose that makes him look kind of "stuffed" if you know what I mean. I would like to see him doing something or at least see what caught his attention.
Anyway, sharpnes and exposure are good, nice low angle too.

Très belle photo de ce «Pluvier» que nous ne voyons pas au Québec. Le Pluvier siffleur (Piping Plover) au Canada n'a pas ces trois barres noires, même s'il a le bec de la même couleur.

Hi Sheriff. Your patience certainly paid off with this shot. I think a slightly lower POV would have improved it even more but it also lovely as it is. The exposure and sharpness are admirable, colours great. I think your DOF is just right. That early morning light is just perfect for this, details are great I almost feel like I could reach out and touch it. Very well done :)
