| This herd of elephant are in the Thornybush Reserve. This was taken around 10.45 a.m. - the herd was very close and listening to the 'instructions' from the matriarch. They would move forward together at quite a pace and then stop dead still all facing the same way, then turn and come back towards us. They appeared quite nervous but the guide was sure it was not because of our presence because at no time did they threaten or intimidate us. Finally, they came around us almost touched us (as you can see) It seems something had frightened them but they settled and started to feed and move off. A beautiful experience to look into those gentle eyes and look at those eyelashes - incredible creatures. |
