[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photograph close to the Punda Maria Camp in the Kruger. Sorry for the depth of filed, I will try to take a better shot next time but anyway I like these 2 small antilopes... hahahahah :D

Name: Steenbok
Raphicerus campestris

The Steenbok is a very small antilope and only the male carry horns. Steenbok are solitary except when the female is with a calf or, when in oestrus, is accompanied by a male. Usually diurnal in habit, they are most active during the mornings and late afternoons and, where persecuted, tend to noctural activity.
They lie flat to escape detection, hide in grass and will only flush at the last moment, running off rapidly, sometimes pausing momentarily to look back, before running on.
Their enemies are large and medium-size carnivores, including caracal, African wild cat, jackal, badgers, pythons and martial eagles.

-----------------------
Mass: 11kg (male) - 12kg (female)
Shoulder height: 50cm
Horns: 18cm
Young: one, rarely two
Life expectancy: 10years

Hello Stephane

These little ones have such sweet faces.Their heads are so small relative to their bodies.I like the natural environment you have captured them in.The soft sunlight really gives a nice colour to the shot.Overall a very good shot .TFS

bonjour Stéphane,
j'aime beaucoup celle-ci, la couleur chaude est très agréable.
On sent aussi que l'on est immergé dans un milieu qui n'est pas le notre, grace à ton cadrage dans les herbes.

bien vu

Hi Steph,
This is a nice shot, the light and colours are beautiful. I agree about he DOF, to have the second Steenbok in focus would have been perfect. Nice composition, I like the way one seems unaware and the other is looking straight at you. A nice shot.
Regards,
Adrian
