Les vautours sont des oiseaux nécrophages, présents sur presque tous les continents. Ils se nourrissent principalement de carcasses d'animaux.
La principale caractéristique anatomique des vautour est leur tête dépourvue de plumes. Ils ont également souvent un long cou. On attribue souvent un rôle adaptatif à ce caractère, car leur mode d'alimentation contraint leur tête à être très souvent recouverte de sang, endroit particulièrement difficile à nettoyer.
The vultures are birds necrophagous, present on almost all the continents. They nourish mainly carcasses of animals.
The principal anatomical characteristic of the vulture is their head deprived of feathers. They also often have a long neck. One often allots an adaptive role to this character, because their constrained mode of food their head with being very often covered with blood, place particularly difficult to clean. |
