| This was shot in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. I spent about 2.5 hrs with this herd which had about 80-100 elephants. I will post more in the coming days due to daily upload limits. Your comments would be most appreciated. |

Hi Subhrojyoti
Welcome to TrekNature. I hope you will enjoy this site, learn and appreciate lots about nature and photography that is on offer, and share some lovely material with us in the time to come.
A lovely photo with a rather unusual cropping, but it worked well with the vertical composition. Interesting to see how this massive animal can apply its trunk in such a gentle and delicate way as to rub or scratch its sensitive eye. Well spotted and captured.
When I looked at the thumbnail of your photo and saw it said "India" as the country of origin I thought to myself: "That's no Indian elephant; it's an African elephant, so it must have been taken in some zoo, somewhere in India". But, when I opened the photo and saw your notes said that it was shot in the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. Then I realised you made a slip-up when you posted the photo. Let me try and explain.
When you do an "Upload" the system ask you to identify the country in the drop-down box "Select Country". This is supposed to be the country of origin (where did you capture the photo?) and not the country of your residence. This selection is crucial for the system to know which regions, provinces, etc. to make available when you progress to the next screen where you identify the "State". If you selected "Tanzania" the system would have provided you with the correct drop-down selection to identify exactly where the photo was captured, namely in "Africa>>Tanzania>>East>>Arusha>>Serengeti National Park". The problem now is that this photo is linked to the incorrect country statistics and although you can edit most anything on a posting afterwards, you cannot edit the country of origin. Only the site administration can assist you to correct this situation and for that you will have to send an e-mail to Adam Silverman (Adam). Click on "Contact Me" right next to Adam's name and process the message with your request.
I hope you find this useful when you do your next upload.
Regards
