[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was my first visit to Serengeti and I was overwhelmed by the Big Five's. In India big cat sighting is rare and involves lot of luck, hence after seeing so many lions huddled together gave me tremendous adrenaline rush. This young lion caught my attention and the cold stare was really intimidating. It was resting on a rock ledge few yards away from a herd of buffaloes. The evening sun brought out the perfect details and the tones.

Lions spend most of their time alone lazing or sleeping. The young lions do not help in hunting until they are about an year old. Lions will hunt alone only if they have the right opportunity and sometimes they may even steal a kill from hyenas.
