Tawny eagles are large brown eagles of the African steppe. Younger birds are often tawny or even whitish, whereas adults are more brown and thus difficult to identify as Greater and Lesser Spotted eagle as well as Steppe-Eagles from Asia winter on the same ground.
The adult bird on the top was eating a Guineafowl with a younger immature bird waiting for the carcass.
The picture was taken in the very early morning. |

This is an outstanding capture. I really like the placement of the bird and the tree on which it is standing. It is a strong simple composition with good natural color. I like this a lot.
