| here's another photo of the rock hyrax sunning himself near our tent in Serengetti. I was also told that this little creature is closely related to the elephant although I am not sure if there's any scientific fact to back up the claim, common sense says no! |

Cute picture of your hyrax!
This the closest living relative to the elephant, according to several reputable text books. It seems hard to believe when you look at the size and physical characteristics when comparing the two, but it's true. :)
